We’re returning to Portugal for our second season — and after the incredible success of last year’s hub, we’re excited to welcome both returning and new families to this vibrant, family-friendly seaside experience.

Located just a 5-minute walk from the beach, our Portugal hub offers the perfect blend of community connection and personal freedom. Families can stay for as little as one week or settle in for a few months — it’s entirely up to you.

Where We Stay
Most families will be staying in a 5 star seaside condominium called Herdade dos Salgados, see photos above, that features 1 - 3 bedroom fully equipped apartments with 24/7 security, shared outdoor spaces with gardens and 7 swimming pools, tennis court, football pitch and a strong sense of community. Older children often play freely within the safe gated condominium, forming close friendships that last beyond the hub. You can also rent apartments and villas in the surrounding areas for all budgets or stay in your campervan in the surrounding areas.

How It Works
Each day, we offer optional meetups and activities outside of the main condominium, so even families staying in the surrounding areas can join in — from nature outings, beach meetups, arts & crafts, playgrounds, outdoor games, dancing, hikes, boat trips, visiting waterfalls, zipline to cultural experiences, relaxed hangouts and more. 

There’s no drop-off program for children, no learning together; instead, parents and children join in together, creating a shared rhythm of exploration and fun. The hub welcomes children of all ages, and the diverse age range allows for unique inter-age friendships and group dynamics. 

Most days, we meet after lunch, giving families plenty of time in the mornings for their own learning, work, or quiet time.
Each meetup is thoughtfully planned based on the weather, the ages of the children and the interests of the families in the group.

Some days we might gather earlier in the morning due to weather, tide, or set off on a full-day adventure.

Families staying in the main condominium enjoy extra connection time before and after daily meetups — kids often play together freely, making each day even more fun. 

Please note: if you’re staying outside the condominium, you won’t be able to join spontaneous pool meetups or free play around the area as it is a gated condominium. You will be able to join any activities held in my apartment.

For every Hub we host, I prepare a thoughtful plan filled with the most amazing places each location has to offer, with fun activities designed to inspire and connect families and kids.

But this experience is truly yours too! Families, teens, and pre-teens will have the chance to vote on the activities they’re most excited about, and I’m always open to including new ideas based on the group’s interests.

How to join our hub

  1. Choose and book your your accommodation: ​

• Most of our hub families stay at the beautiful 5-star gated condominium Herdade dos Salgados, just a short walk from the beach and surrounded by peaceful nature. For the best rates and the smoothest booking experience, we highly recommend Aderfeiras, the trusted management company we worked with last season. They are currently updating rental contracts, so many apartments are temporarily taken down from their website — but you can contact them directly on WhatsApp (+351 937160903 – Bruno) and he will let you know which apartments are available for your dates.

• Of course, you’re also welcome to book through any other platform. Just look for the location Herdade dos Salgados if you want to stay in the same complex, or in the surrounding areas. If you’re unsure whether an apartment is in the right spot, simply send me the link and I’ll happily confirm if it’s close to the hub.

• Prefer to join us in your campervan? That’s possible too! You can stay at nearby campsites or the beachside parking just a 5-minute walk away. If that’s your option, fill out the form below or send me a PM, and I’ll send you a list of recommended spots.

• Early booking is strongly encouraged, as accommodation options are limited and tend to fill up quickly. We look forward to welcoming you soon!

  3. Fill out the registration form Please complete the registration form below so we have all the important details about your family and your stay with us.  Once your form is submitted, we’ll send you the detailed information and next steps to confirm your spot at the hub.

   4 . Send your contribution

Contribution is based on the length of your stay per family

Weekly Contribution: 1 week: €100, 2 weeks: €150, 3–4 weeks: €200

Monthly Contribution: 1st month: €200, Each additional month: €180

What are the weekly activities & schedule?

Daily meetups and activities based on the weather and ages of kids with us at the time - all optional to attend. Activities including field trips, boat trips, kayaking, cliff walks, adventures, beach days, water parks, play dates at various locations, painting arts and crafts workshops for all ages - even adults, zip lining, free plays at our condominium any time of the day in between and more.​​​​​

How long to join for?

For the best experience, I recommend a stay of three weeks or more, as this gives families time to build deeper connections and lasting friendships. If that’s not possible, two weeks is a good alternative. One-week stays can feel very short for meaningful bonding, but they’re still a great way to get a feel for our hub. Many families join us for multiple months, allowing relationships to grow naturally and beautifully.

What is the area like?

This condominium is nestled in a serene and upscale neighborhood, Herdade dos Salgados, offering a perfect blend of tranquility, safety and convenience. You'll find everything you need within easy reach. A local supermarket is right at the edge of the property - 5 min. walk, larger supermarket 3 min. drive. Just across the road, there's a 5-star hotel with a bar and restaurant for your dining pleasure. A variety of charming local restaurants and cafes are just a 10-minute stroll away.

For leisure, the beach and a pristine golf course are only a 5-minute walk from the condominium. If you're looking to explore nearby towns, Albufeira is a quick 12-minute Uber-Taxi ride, and Armacao da Pera is just 10 minutes away by car. Additionally, a large shopping mall, where you'll find a wide range of stores and amenities, is also 12 minutes by car. This prime location ensures that you're never far from the best the area has to offer.

This hub isn’t a business. It’s a living, breathing community built with heart, time, and a whole lot of love.

Behind the scenes, it takes months of preparation to create the space where families can feel at home, where children make instant friendships, where parents can breathe, connect, and belong.

What is included and what do I arrange on my own?  
This contribution covers all immediate family members, including parents, partners, and children. Bringing Extra Family or Friends? You’re welcome to invite special adults like grandparents, adult friends, or aunts and uncles. However, if these guests are bringing their own children, they will need to make a separate hub contribution for their family.

Your contribution includes a thoughtfully curated itinerary for each day showcasing the best places in the area,

led by a worldschooling host that has lived in the area for a few years. You’ll gain access to a private chat group for easy communication, connect with other like-minded worldschooling families, and embark on unforgettable adventures. Entry fees for paid activities need to be paid by each family separately. 

 

Is the contribution refundable? 
Contributions to the Hub are non-refundable. However, if you cancel you may transfer your donation to any future Hub that we host.

​​​Will I need a car? 

It is possible to attend this hub without a car, yet for the best experience I highly recommend it.

​

What is the closest airport? 

Faro - 40min. drive. 

Lisbon - 2,5 hours drive

What will the spoken language be? 
The common language for all families will be English.

What will the itinerary be, and how will I be informed?

Before your arrival you will be invited to a private messenger chat group for direct communication with other families. Regular updates on activities and trips will follow, with adjustments made as needed based on the weather.

Do I have to join all the activities?

All the meetups and activities are optional to attend.​
