Home made Cough syrup that works every time.

Updated: Dec 24, 2018

This is something that I always make if any of us at home has a sore throat and is coughing.

The recipe is very simple and you only need few ingredients to make it. It tastes great too...

Here is what you need...

1 - One bigger peace of Ginger Ginger has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

2 - One Lemon, which is a good source of vitamin in C and is great for hydration.

3 - Honey depending how sweet the syrup has to be...if it's for children or adults...taste it and sweeten it as you need

4 - Garlic - optional, one or two cloves

5 - Water

Tip:

Put in garlic, which is very healthy and it will make the syrup even better if you, or your children will not have problem with that flavor in the syrup.

Here’s how to do it:

1 - Peal and grade ginger and garlic on the smallest grader.

2 - Grab the pulp from ginger and garlic and squeeze the juice out. We need pure juice without the pulp.

3 - Squeeze out juice from one lemon

4 - Add honey, the amount depends on your own taste. My kids like the syrup to be sweet...

5 - Add warm water so the syrup is diluted and not so spicy from ginger. Taste it and add more water or honey as you need.

Here’s how to use it:

I give small tea spoon to my children few times during the day. If you get the taste right, it is delicious. I love this syrup and sometimes I just sip it up like tea...

My kids are used to it and they know that they need to take it if they don't want to have that nasty cough and sore throat...Sometimes I allow them to have a sip of water strait after the syrup, because it can be strong from ginger...

The most important thing is that it really helps...
